Elegant technology
The simpler (and therefore more elegant) technology is, the more beautiful it becomes. This is certainly the case with this implementation of GPS and electronic compass technology. The concept is this – suppose you’re walking around Tokyo and you spot a restaurant – is it good, what are the reviews? Instead of doing a search on the internet on your mobile phone/pda, just point your Sony Ericsson’s W21S in the direction of the restaurant. This phone has a GPS and an integrated electronic compass – and this will bring up the info on the restaurant. It’s like a magic info wand! Both the concept and the implementation are brilliant. I hope this catches on outside Japan!
