Copy/Cut/Paste on the Nokia E61

The Nokia E61 doesn’t have the edit key (the one with the little pencil)  like previous S60 phones, which was used for copying and pasting text.  To copy and paste, select the text with either of the shift keys plus the joystick, and then use the ctrl (control) key plus (you guessed it) “x” to cut, “c” to copy, and “v” to paste.  Very simple, but I couldn’t find reference to it anywhere I searched (PEBKAC probably).

Thanks for posting this info.
I tried copying from a Subject block in a Memo in Calendar and it pasted OK into a meeting Description but I could not get it to Copy or Cut and Paste from text selected in the Meeting Description window.
It is a real hinderance not to be able to use this effectively.

Jonathan,
If you select Options > Edit on the Description field, you’ll be able to copy/cut/paste normally.

Just looking around the google for this things :p n honestly I’ve tried this before… But it didn’t work… Maybe i didnt press the ctrl + x,v,c concurrently… :p
but it works now… *poor me..
Thx anyway…
*sent from my e61 :P

To cut, copy and paste and open new windows in the web browser of my Nokia e61i I built a site called http://mobitol.com which pops the text of whatever site you want into a text box so that it can be edited. Not sure if it will work with all s60 phones but it should. I’d be interested to hear if it works for you.
