The end of chemistry…

…in photography! :-) Nikon announced yesterday that apart from their flagship F6 professional SLRs, they’re ending all their photographic film products. Thanks to Engadget.com for the news. If five years ago in 2001 someone told you that Nikon by 2006 would have 95% of their camera sales in digital, you’d have said “That’s inconceivable!:-D

Google Earth for Mac OS X

Finally, we have Google Earth for Mac OS X. My first impressions are great, it really takes advantage of the 3D hardware of my G4 iBook – as fast as my 2.8MHz P4 Windows box (which doesn’t have decent 3D hardware, but even so). I didn’t think it would be such a nice experience. Thanks to Rui for the heads up.

News flash!

Just a quick note to say that I’ve had the best possible entrance in 2006: my daughter Carolina was born today, at 10:45 am.  Happiest moment in my life.
